The glue of our remote company
Our 45-person fully remote company runs entirely on Slack. Channels keep communication organized, integrations with GitHub and Jira keep everything connected, and huddles handle quick syncs. Can't imagine how we'd function without it.
Great product, terrible pricing
Slack is genuinely the best team messaging app. But $12.50/user/month for Business+ adds up fast. We're a team of 80 — that's $12,000/year just for messaging. Switched to Teams because of Microsoft bundling. Wish Slack was more competitively priced.
Still the best despite Teams competition
We evaluated Teams vs Slack and chose Slack for the better UX, stronger integrations, and overall developer experience. The 90-day message history on free plan is the main pain point, but once you're on paid it's excellent.
Slack remains the best team communication platform for companies that live in their messaging app. Its integrations, search capabilities, and channel organization are unmatched. The main limitation is cost — for large teams, Slack can become expensive compared to Microsoft Teams, which offers more for less if you are already in the Microsoft ecosystem.
